A good tutor can help to consolidate learning of any topics that may have been taught in school. They will also be able to help identify any conceptual difficulties-this can be harder to do within a busy classroom or in private study.
Another benefit of tuition is that it can help accelerate progress.
If you were to compare the SATs at the end of Year 6 with a sample 11+ paper to see the difference in difficulty, you would see that there are some topics that may not have been covered or taught in as much depth at primary school. As a result, there may be elements of the 11+ that your child may not have been taught or understand at an in depth level. Tuition can help to bridge the gap in understanding and deepen understanding of key concepts.
No! I am a qualified primary teacher and am able to teach all subjects across KS1 and KS2. I can offer supplementary tuition to support learning in school as well as offering home education tuition.
Online one to one tuition can take place wherever you may be! Sessions will be scheduled at a time convenient to you.
One to one sessions will take place in a location convenient for you. This may be in your home, or within the library for example.
Group tuition takes place at Avenue Hall, 70 Richmond Hall, West Wimbledon.
One to one sessions are usually an hour long. However, other lesson durations are available. For example, sessions focusing on phonics and times tables would run for 30 minutes. At 11+, I recommend an hour or 1.5 hours.

Yes! I am available to tutor during the school holidays. Term dates vary year to year but I generally follow Merton Council published term dates.
If you would like to continue tuition over the holidays, I am happy to do so. Just let me know ahead of the holidays so that I can schedule your sessions.
If I am away myself over the holiday period, I will always let you know with as much notice as possible.
During the first lesson, I assess your child’s needs through various activities and discussion with yourself and your child. I like to include games and practical activities whenever possible.
Online tuition takes place using Zoom. I also use BitPaper as our collaborative virtual whiteboard. This enables us to both to write at the same time. I also share virtual resources through Zoom. This ensures that lessons are engaging and interactive.

Payment for sessions should be completed by the due date stated on your invoice.
